Snow. The snow is getting deep. What did you think I meant??
Yes, the Philadelphia region has been hit with ANOTHER major snow storm. And I'm going to gaze into my crystal ball . . .
I have showings tomorrow. I've been out with the buyer in the snow before, so I know that won't be a problem. But I'm going to make sure I have a snow shovel in the back of my car.
Why? Because there are so many listings in this area that seem to be ignoring the fact that this is the snowiest winter in record!
First, there are the vacant properties. I don't know whether to blame the owner for not arranging for snow removal, or the agent for not making sure the owner did it. And I'm not talking short sales here, these are vacant, full-price, up-scale homes.
What's even worse is when it's an occupied home. And you see the two sets of foot prints in the deep show where the owners left their home. C'mon -- curb appeal INCLUDES having a path shoveled so your potential buyers don't have to act like they're Robert Peary trekking to the North Pole.
So, I'll have my trusty shovel with me. And dollars to donuts, I'll be using it tomorrow to get to some other agent's listing.
